The Trestle Inn is a secluded unique

National Forest. Constructed of huge Douglas Fir timbers
from a railroad trestle.
|
The Trestle Inn was built by snowmobilers for snowmobilers, but all year long hundreds of tourists enjoy its' famous food, drink and northwoods charm!
|
|
How it started...
In
February of 1980 during a snowmobile adventure near Crooked Lake
Resort (just out of Finland, Minnesota), Lee Schumacher came
across an abandoned railroad trestle deep in the Superior National
Forest. The timbers estimated at 300 years old, were removed
from the forest and transformed into a restaurant and saloon for
snowmobilers!
Each beam was precisely measured,
cut and put into its final position, creating a place where you
can sit, relax, dine, wine and gave in awe at their beauty. (More
